AmCham IP & L Committee Luncheon
To keep pace with the era of internet and digital convergence, since 2008, TIPO began compiling issues needing to be addressed in amendments to the Copyright Act. The first version of the draft amendment to the Copyright Act was released in April 2014. Key aspects of the amendment include consolidation and revision of economic rights, modifications to the limitations on economic rights (e.g., legislative or administrative purposes, educational purposes, non-profit purposes), as well as a review the criminal liabilities potentially incurred, along with other aspects.
Over the past two years, TIPO has studied and thoroughly reviewed the comments received from the public on the draft, and on April 13 this year revised it into the current fourth version of the draft amendment to the Copyright Act. To help AmCham members understand key points of the amendment, Director General Wang will present and explain TIPO’s many efforts on the amendment.
