Taiwan businesses have had it lucky. They have enjoyed reliable electricity at a very favorable price. But that era is coming to a close. Prices are likely to increase, and the supply may become less reliable as Taiwan weans itself from nuclear power. Demand Response (DR) offers commercial businesses a creative way to adapt. By shifting some of their power consumption away from peak demand times, businesses can reduce their electricity costs while maintaining smooth operations. Over the past 15 years, DR has become a valuable part of many global electricity markets, improving reliability while driving down costs. In this presentation, David Brewster, co-founder of EnerNOC, Inc., will speak about the past, present and future of DR’s contribution to electricity markets, and discuss how DR could contribute to smart management of Taiwan's commercial electricity needs.
